That is why the KMT is advancing a six-year, NT$240 billion plan to support Taiwan’s drone, unmanned vessel, and broader unmanned systems industries, from R&D and production to testing, procurement, and exports.
The real debate is how public money is spent, how procurement is conducted, and whether these investments actually build Taiwan’s own defense and industrial capabilities.
If the government believes procurement is urgent, existing budget procedures, including supplemental budgets and the upcoming annual budget, remain available.
The KMT’s position is clear: support Taiwan’s drone industry, strengthen national defense, ensure transparent procurement, and build resilient domestic supply chains.
Every dollar invested should become both real combat capability and lasting industrial strength for Taiwan.
